Julie Shifman joined the Adopt A Class organization as it’s Executive Director in 2015. Julie brings a wealth of leadership experience to her role from both her substantial community activities as well as her extensive business background as a lawyer and business owner. Most recently Julie was the founder and owner of Act Three which assists women in successfully defining a fulfilling next stage of life. She also authored the book, Act Three, to provide simple, powerful tools for women to transition from full-time motherhood back to the workforce. Julie is a nationally recognized speaker on women’s career issues.
Prior to founding her company Act Three, Julie had been a corporate and tax partner at the law firm of Thompson Hine and then established a consultancy to provide expertise to community non-profits. She has also been an adjunct professor of business law at Xavier University.
Julie has an extensive community portfolio. She was the creator and chair of the week-long celebration CincyinNYC, highlighting Cincinnati’s unique culture and arts by showcasing all the arts groups together in New York City for which she received the Spirit of Cincinnati award from the Convention and Visitors Bureau. She has been on the board of many of Cincinnati’s major cultural institutions and non profits including:
